Welcome to PRYR. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address
• Name (first name or display name)
• Profile photo (optional)
• Authentication credentials

Prayer Content

• Prayer requests you create
• Prayer categories and tags
• Testimonies and answered prayers
• Prayer session logs and duration, private journal entries, group messages, and content reports
• Prayer content may contain sensitive religious beliefs, health information, or information about other people that you choose to provide
• Optional uploaded photos and custom prayer backgrounds

Usage Information

• App usage patterns and features accessed
• Device information (device type, operating system)
• Location you choose to share for Beacons and precise route coordinates, times, and distance when you record and save a Prayer Walk or Drive
• Optional approximate location and recent prayer activity for the Praying map
• Account identifiers, push notification registration, and subscription status needed to operate the app
• Google Maps SDK device identifiers, usage and technical information, crash reports, and performance information described in its privacy disclosures

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the PRYR app services
• Personalize your prayer journey experience
• Generate optional AI-powered insights after you enable AI Prayer Insights on your device
• Enable community features like prayer groups and public prayer requests
• Send notifications about prayer activity (with your permission)
• Improve our app and develop new features
• Communicate with you about updates and support

3. Information Sharing

Public Prayers

When you mark a prayer as "public," it may be visible to other PRYR users. Public prayers may display your profile unless you select anonymous posting. Anonymous posting hides your displayed identity from other users; PRYR still associates the prayer with your account. Avoid including names or other identifying information in content you want to keep anonymous.

Prayer Groups

Prayers and messages shared within groups are visible to group members. Group administrators manage membership. Reported content and related context can also be reviewed by authorized PRYR moderators to investigate abuse.

We Do NOT:

• Sell your personal information to third parties
• Publish private prayers to other community members without your sharing choice
• Use your prayer content for advertising purposes
• Share your data with unrelated third parties

Service Providers

We may share information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating the app, including:

• Cloud hosting services (Supabase)
• Anthropic for optional AI prayer insights, when you enable that feature
• Authentication providers (Apple, Google)
• Apple push notifications and in-app purchases; Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android push delivery and Google Play for Android subscriptions and purchase verification; Resend email delivery; and Google Maps for maps and associated technical data

Service providers process information under their applicable terms and privacy policies. See Anthropic’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy. We do not use prayer content for advertising.

Optional AI Prayer Insights

AI insights are off by default. Enabling them allows PRYR to send excerpts from up to 20 recent prayers, their categories, dates and status, and prayer activity counts to Anthropic. This can include private prayer text and sensitive information in that text. Generated insights are saved to your PRYR account. You can stop future requests in Settings → AI Prayer Insights; turning the setting off does not retract data already sent or delete saved insights. The choice applies to your account on that device. Public map content preparation does not require AI.

Location and Praying Activity

Location features require your permission. Prayer Walk and Drive recordings can store precise paths in your account, including when recording continues in the background. Beacons use approximate displayed locations rather than exact device positions; the public content and location you share may still reveal information about you.

Praying on the Map is a separate, optional account setting, off by default. After you log an in-app prayer, your device rounds a fresh location to a 0.2-degree grid before sharing it. Other signed-in users see an approximate point without your account identifier, name or prayer text, lasting about 23–24 hours after your latest logged prayer. It represents recent activity, not live presence. PRYR privately associates the point with your account to enforce consent and removal. The latest private coarse point remains until it is replaced, you opt out, or your account is deleted; no historical trail is kept for this feature. Turning the setting off clears that point.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
• Secure authentication protocols
• Security fixes and access-control testing
• Access controls and monitoring

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Correct: Update or correct inaccurate information
• Delete: Use Settings → Delete Account to submit an account-deletion request directly in the app
• Export: Request a copy of your prayer data
• Opt-out: Disable notifications or certain features

For access, export, correction, or privacy questions, contact us using the information below. Account deletion can be initiated in the app without contacting support. Use Settings → Blocked People to manage your blocks, and a group message’s menu to report harmful content.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. After you submit an account-deletion request, we process it within 30 days and email confirmation when complete. This includes associated personal content and uploaded files, except information we must legally retain. Groups you created may be removed unless ownership is transferred; other members’ personal prayers remain theirs. Deleting your PRYR account does not cancel subscriptions billed by Apple or Google Play: manage them at Apple Subscriptions or Google Play Subscriptions. Reports and block records are used to protect the community and are removed with their associated account or content as applicable.

7. Children's Privacy

PRYR is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of PRYR after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. California Privacy Rights

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt-out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

10. International Users

If you are accessing PRYR from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located.
