Open thou, O Lord, our lips, to bless thy holy name ; cleanse our hearts from all vain and distracting thoughts ; enlighten our un- derstandings, inflame our wills, that we may worthily perform this holy exercise with true devotion, and deserve to be heard in the pre- sence of thy Divine Majesty, who with the Father and the Holy Ghost, livest and reign- est, one God, world without end. R . Amen
