Loud Jesus, who avoidest no labour, and for us wast weary, hungry, and thirsty, expel from our hearts all sloth, that we may be active in all the duties of religion, and of our sphere of life, and employ ourselves for thy glory, and for our neighbours’ good and edifi- cation, that our souls slumber not through sloth, but run with alacrity in the way of thy commandments, lest our tepidity move thee to anger. Enkindle within us the flame of thy charity, that being strengthened by thee we may labour by good works, through a right faith, to make our calling and election sure, that what our hand can do, we do Suickly ; thus may we please thee, and escape be judgment passed on the wicked and sloth- ful servant.
