Culpft Rubet Vultus Me

O God, vouchsafe, ac- cept my tears. Thou who wast moved with Mary’s grief, Who didst absolve the convert thief, Dost bid me hope; CM give relief. Do not reject my mourn- ful prayer ; Release me from that sinful snare, Which death and gaping hell prepare. Amono thy sheep give me a place ; Drive far the goats, th’ infernal race ; Elect me as thy heir of grace. From that most dismal deep abyss, Where flames devour, and serpents hiss, Promote me to thy seats of bliss. Prostrate, my contrite heart I rend ; 320 OCCASIONAL COLLECTS* ETC. Cor contritum, quasi ci- nis ; Gere curam mei finis. Lacrykosa dies ilia, Qua resfirget ex favflld, Judic&ndus homo reus. Htric parce, Deus, Pie Jesu, D6mine, Dona eis requiem. A- men. 1 bow my head, my knees I bend ; On that last day be thou my friend. Thrice sad and bitter day for those, Who, stain’d with sin, did their life close ; Their doom shall be eter- nal woes. On those, who living did their best. Bestow, O Lord, eternal rest, And grant them glory with the blest. Amen

Where this comes from

This page is part of PRYR’s public-domain library buildout from The Treasury of Prayer. OCR has been cleaned enough for reading, but high-value pages should still be proofed against the scan before app-native use.
