447. Temperance Pledge

300 Days. (See Instructions, p. 1.) GOD, my FATHER, to show my love for Thee, to make reparation to thy wounded honour, to obtain the salvation of souls, I firmly purpose to take this day neither wine, nor beer, nor any in- toxicating drink. I offer Thee this act of mortification in union with the sacrifice of thy Son Jesus CHRIST, who daily offers Himself a victim on the altar for thy greater glory. Amen
