O Lord, that Thou hast said: "Pardon and you shall be par- doned." Digitized by 266 The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass Lead us not into temptation. — Protect us against the wiles and machinations ofc the evil spirit; let me not yield to any temptation on the part of the enemies of my soul ; remove from me the occasions of sin and come to my assistance that I may not expose myself to them. Deliver us from evil. — Guard us against evils, both temporal and spiritual. Sin is the greatest of all evils. Purify me from all the sins that I have committed. Suffer me not to offend Thee again. Preserve me from the pain of hell. Give me Thy love and Thy grace that I may serve Thee faithfully on earth and bless and glorify Thee for- ever in heaven. Amen
