R. For it is now toward evening. Alleluia. The Versicle and Response having been recited, there fol- lows, with its appointed Antiphon, the ittagnittat, or Canticle of tfje ptanreb &irgm 4Marp Luke I. 46-55 ^T\agnificat * anima mea Dominum: Et exsultavit spiritus meus * in Deo salutari meo. Quia respexit humili- tatem ancillae suae : * ecce enim ex hoc beatam me dicent omnes genera- tiones. Quia fecit mihi magna /T\y soul doth mag- M-S nify the Lord. And my spirit hath rejoiced: in God my Saviour. Because He hath re- garded the humility of His handmaid: for be- hold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For He that is mighty 7io Vespers for Sundays qui potens est! * et sanc- tum nomen ejus. Et misericordia ejus a progenie in progenies * timentibus eum. Fecit potentiam in brachio suo: * dispersit superbos mente cordis sui. Deposuit potentes de sede,* et exaltavit humi- les. Esurientes implevit bo- nis: * et divites dimisit inanes.
