R. Amen. Then, signing himself, with his right hand, with the sign of the Cross, from his forehead to his breast, he says : V. Adjutorium nostrum in V. Our help is in the Name nomine i>omini. of the Lord.

R. Qui fecit coelum et ter- R. Who hath made heaven ram. and earth.

V. Domine, exaudi ora- V.

O Lord, hear my prayer, tionem meam.

R. Et clamor meus ad te R. And let my cry come veniat. unto thee. N. Dominus vobiscum.

V. The Lord be with you.

R. Et cum spiritu tuo.

R. And with thy spirit. Then, with his hands extended towards the persons to be con- firmed, he say 8 : Oremus. Let us pray. Omnipotens sempiterne De- Almighty, everlasting God, us, qui regenerare dignatus es who hast vouchsafed to rege- hos famulos tuos ex aaua et nerate these thy servants by Spiritu Sancto, quique dedisti water and the Holy Ghost, eis remissionem omnium pec- and hast given unto them the catorum ; emitte in eos septi- remission of all their sins, send formem Spiritum tuum, sane- forth upon them thy seven- turn Paraclitum, de coelis. fold Spirit, the Holy Paraclete, R.
