Us to Worship Tliy Glorious Name. Wherefore

we beseech Thee, O Lord, give us grace and power that we may be accounted worthy to sing praise to Thee with understanding, and to pray to Thee without ceasing, in fear and trembling working out our salvation, through the aid of Thy Christ p. SHINE into our hearts, loving Master, by the pure light of the knowledge of Thyself; and open the eyes of our m?hd to the contemplation of Thine Evangelic teaching, and put into us the fear of Thy blessed commandments; that trampling down all carnal appetites, we may follow a spiritual life, thinking and doing all things according to Thy good pleasure. For Thou art our sanctifica- tion and our illumination, and to Thee we render glory, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages**. OGOD, Who dividest the day from the night, separate our deeds from the gloom of darkness, that ever meditating on things holy, we may con- tinually live in Thy light; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Where this comes from

This page is part of PRYR’s public-domain library buildout from Ancient Collects and Other Prayers. OCR has been cleaned enough for reading, but high-value pages should still be proofed against the scan before app-native use.
