Stretch Forth,

O Lord, Thy mercy over Thy servants -Z^. N,, even the right hand of heavenly help; that they may seek Thee with their whole heart, and obtain what they rightly ask for ; through Christ our Lord •*. OGOD, "Who by the grace of the Holy Ghost hast poured the gifts of love into the hearts of Thy faithful people; grant unto Thy servants N.N,^ for whom I implore Thy mercy, health of body and soul ; that they may love Thee with all their *> Gelasian. « Ibid. This immediately follows, in a Missa in Monasterio, the original form of our Collect for the Clergy and People. That collect was first composed for a monastic community, or for any Christian household, (see Murat. 1. 719, 737). The reading then was, '* Bestow on Thy servants," &c. ^ Gelasian. FOR RELATIONS AND FRIENDS. I05 strength, and with perfect affection fulfil Thy plea- sure; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
