Almighty God, that by the annual exercise of Lenten observances we may ■ Leonine. • Oelasian. ■> Ibid. « Ibid. 32 PRAYERS FOR SACRED SEASONS. advance in knowledge of the mystery of Christ, and follow His mind by conduct worthy of our calling, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord ^. WE beseech Thee, O Lord, to sanctify our fasts, and mercifully to grant us forgiveness of all our sins, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
